Michala Petri, since long firmly established as one of the leading soloist recorder players of today with a very successful international career and numerous recordings, has received the highest praise for her astonishing virtuosity and musicality in a repertoire ranging from the early baroque to contemporary works, many of them especially written for her. Her partners in music have included Keith Jarrett, Claudio Abbado, Gidon Kremer and Emmanuel Pahud, and composers Vagn Holmboe, Malcolm Arnold, Per Nørgård and Daniel Børtz. She she won the Preis der deutsche Schallplattenkritik twice, received the Wilhelm Hansen Music Prize, and the Sonning Music Prize 2000.
