After studying the cello at the Besançon Conservatoire, Christine Plubeau was drawn by her interest in Baroque repertoire to study of the viola da gamba at the Strasburg Conservatoire and then with Wieland Kuijken at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. On her return to France she embarked on a career that has brought collaboration with ensembles such as the Grande Ecurie et la Chambre du Roy and the Concert Spirituel, and with a series of distinguished singers and soloists. She has appeared at festivals throughout France and the rest of Europe, in the Lebanon and in Brazil, and has a number of critically acclaimed recordings to her credit. She is a Laureate of the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation.
