In recent seasons the quartet has performed the complete quartet cycles of Beethoven, Bartók, and Brahms. That same year the quartet also recorded Aqua by Harold Meltzer for the album Songs and Structures (Bridge Records), which received a GRAMMY nomination for Best Classical Compendium.
The Avalon’s live performances and conversations have been heard on National Public Radio’s Performance Today, Canada’s CBC, Australia’s ABC, ARD in Germany, and France Musique.
The quartet was awarded the top prize at the ARD International Music Competition in Munich (2000) and First Prize at the Concert Artists Guild Competition in New York City (1999).
