A winner of the Concert Artists Guild International Competition and the Johns Hopkins University Alumni Award, Bulgarian artist Svet Stoyanov is a driving force in modern percussion. He currently enjoys the uniquely multifaceted career of concert performer, music producer, and educator.
Stoyanov’s highlights feature solo appearances with the Chicago, Houston, and Seattle symphony orchestras, as well as solo performances at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, The Kennedy Center, and the Taiwan and Shanghai symphony halls, among others.
He has commissioned a significant body of repertoire, including Jennifer Higdon’s Duo Duel, and Sideman, a percussion concerto by Mason Bates. As a producer, Stoyanov mixed and co-presented numerous works for the Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music during its 2020 and 2021 virtual seasons.
Stoyanov is a founding member of groundbreaking ensemble The Percussion Collective – a collaborative featuring some of today’s finest percussionists. He currently teaches at the Frost School of Music (University of Miami), where he has collaboratively built a unique and innovative percussion program.
