Wojtek Drabowicz was born in Poznań and graduated from the city’s Music Academy. He was a prizewinner of several Polish and international vocal competitions. From 1989 to 1991 he was a soloist of the Grand Opera Theatre in Poznań, where he made his début as Eugene Onegin. He had to his credit numerous highly acclaimed rôles, including works by twentieth-century composers such as Karol Szymanowski (King Roger), Peter Eötvös, Victor Ullmann and Kurt Weill.
Wojtek Drabowicz made guest appearances in leading opera houses and concert halls throughout Europe, in Israel, Canada and the United States, performed at major festivals, and made numerous recordings for radio and television stations in Poland and abroad, as well on CD.
