The Maîitrise de Radio France, a choir-school established in 1946, provides a choral group of some eighty children, appearing alone, with orchestras or the chorus of Radio France. It ensures for the boys and girls involved a general classical education with an in-depth musical training. The Maîtrise was among the first organizations in France to offer successful education in this form, but it is essentially to its activity in the service of French music during the last forty years that it owes its international reputation.
