The Tallis Chamber Choir was formed by Philip Simms in 1982 and quickly established itself as one of Britain’s leading mixed-voice choirs. The choir numbers between twelve and sixty singers and has sung in Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Switzerland, and Turkey, as well as at all London’s major concert halls and with most of Britain’s leading orchestras, in particular the English Chamber Orchestra. The Tallis Chamber Choir has worked under Vladimir Ashkenazy, Frans Brüggen, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Richard Hickox, Neemi Järvi, Gustav Leonhardt, Raymond Leppard, Sir Charles Mackerras, Jean-Claude Malgoire, Zubin Mehta, Yehudi Menuhin, Sir Roger Norrington, Jeffrey Tate, and Michael Tilson Thomas.
