The Simon Mayr Chorus was founded by Franz Hauk in 2003, and is committed to delivering excellent performances
of works ranging from the 16th to the 21st centuries.
Its membership largely consists of vocal students from the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München, members of the choir of Munich’s Bavarian State Opera, and trained singers from the Ingolstadt region.
The ensemble’s vast discography features works by Mayr, Donizetti, Paër and Robert Helmschrott, including world premiere recordings. Its albums have been released on Naxos.
