Sergio Lamberto studied at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Turin, continuing with Corrado Romano in Geneva and with Franco Gulli at the Siena Accademia Chigiana. He won first prize at the Vittorio Veneto National Violin Competition. He served as principal violinist in the Bolzano and Trento Haydn Orchestra and from 1982 to 1991 with the Turin Chamber Orchestra, followed by engagement in the same position with the Turin Philharmonic Orchestra and as soloist with the strings of the Turin Philharmonic. He has appeared as soloist, first violin and concertmaster with the Abruzzo and Sanremo symphony orchestras, the German ensemble Musiké, the Lisbon Festival Orchestra and the Milan Cantelli Orchestra. From 1987 he has served as violinist with the prizewinning Turin Trio, which has appeared widely in countries throughout the world. He has made several recordings. He teaches at the Turin Conservatory and plays a violin by Pierre Dalphin (Geneva 1991).
