Born in Verona in 1977, Marco Vinco started his vocal training with Ivo Vinco and with Paola Molinari, soon appearing with the latter. After his début as Colline in Puccini’s La bohème at the Teatro Politeama di Lecce in 1999, he sang Nettuno in Stradella’s Barcheggio at the Festival Barocco di Fano, Figaro (Le nozze di Figaro) in Trento and Count Rodolfo (La sonnambula) under Alberto Zedda. Further engagements took him to Florence and Bologna, and he won particular success at the Teatro dell’Opera in Roma in Massenet’s Le Jongleur de Notre Dame, Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle in Venice and L’equivoco stravagante at the Rossini in Wildbad Festival. Marco Vinco sang Don Giovanni in Tourcoing and has appeared in Le nozze di Figaro at the Festival of Aix-en-Provence and in Le farse rossiniane at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro. Other engagements include Figaro in Baden Baden and Aix-en-Provence, Tancredi at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Don Giovanni at the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, and La pietra del paragone at Pesaro.
Since then, Marco Vinco has established an international career, performing regularly on the world’s most prestigious concert stages and in opera houses including La Scala, Covent Garden, the Madrid Teatro Real, Berlin Deutsche Oper, Salzburg Festival, Edinburgh Festival, Teatro São Carlos in Lisbon, Opéra de Montecarlo, Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse, Teatro de La Maestranza in Seville, Bunka Kaikan in Tokyo, Festival Mozart de La Coruña, Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, the Florence Teatro Comunale, Genoa Teatro Carlo Felice, Bologna Teatro Comunale, Teatro La Fenice in Venice, the Rome Teatro dell’Opera, Turin Teatro Regio, Naples Teatro San Carlo and Verona Teatro Filarmonico. He has worked with such conductors as Daniele Gatti, Gianluigi Gelmetti, Nicola Luisotti, Zubin Metha, Marc Minkowski, Riccardo Muti and Alberto Zedda, and with stage directors including Robert Carsen, Dario Fo, Mario Martone, Pierluigi Pizzi, Gigi Proietti, Luca Ronconi, Toni Servillo and Franco Zeffirelli. He has recorded for Decca, Opera Rara, Dynamic, Naxos and TDK.
