Bass-baritone Laurent Kubla graduated first in from the Academy of Music in Waterloo and later attended the Opera Studio of the Opéra Royal de Wallonie in Liège. Since 2010 he has sung rôles including Escamillo (Carmen), Don Basilio (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Buralicchio (L’equivoco stravagante), Haly (L’italiana in Algeri), Capulet (Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette), Don Fernando (Fidelio) and Marcello (La Bohème). In 2014 he made his début at the Théâtre de la Monnaie in Brussels as Il conte di Ceprano in Rigoletto, followed in Liège with rôles in La Cenerentola, The Merry Wives of Windsor and L’elisir d’amore.
