The Suk Chamber Orchestra, one of the leading Czech music ensembles, was established in 1974 and is praised for its perfect intonation and incomparable ensemble playing. Named after the Czech composer Josef Suk (1874–1935), the orchestra performs with the composer’s grandson, the world-known violinist Josef Suk, who is its artistic director and permanent soloist. The orchestra collaborates with famous conductors and soloists such as Z. Ruzickova, Helen Donath, Y. Arai, Shlomo Mintz. It is regularly invited to important music festivals in Prag, Salzburg, Vienna, Evian, Bath. The ensemble has toured extensively Europe, North America Japan, Korea and Hong Kong. Besides its concerts, the orchestra is recording for leading broadcasting, television and record companies.
