A pupil of William Matteuzzi, Raffaele Costantini enjoys an active career as a concert singer. In 1995 he won the Lina Pagliughi competition in Cesena, where he made his début as Don Bartolo in Paisiello’s Barbiere. In the following years he undertook various Verdi rôles, including those of Ferrando in Il trovatore, Lodovico in Otello, and, at the Verdi Festival in Macao, of Tom in Il ballo in maschera. His repertoire includes serious and buffo rôles, as well as concert works, including Bach’s Magnificat and Rossini’s Stabat Mater. He has appeared in Falstaff in Lima and in Oporto in the rôles of Falstaff and Pistola respectively.
