The Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, together with the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra, has been a regular orchestra partner of Dutch National Opera since 1985 and is counted among the best opera orchestras internationally. Every season the orchestra plays the majority of opera productions at Dutch National Opera & Ballet.
The Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra organises a versatile concert program in Het Koninklijk Concertgebouw and also performs in other Dutch concert halls and on foreign stages and festivals. Over the past few seasons, the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra has received public and international acclaim for their many successes at the Dutch National Opera, receiving an Edison Award in 2014 for their recording of Der Schatzgräber under the direction of chief conductor Marc Albrecht.
