The bass-baritone Nigel Leeson-Williams has appeared extensively throughout Europe in a large repertoire of choral and operatic works. Appearances with the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland include Haydn’s Paukenmesse, Beethoven’s Missa Solennis, the Requiem of Brahms and Nielsen’s Symphony No.3. Operatic rôles include Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta at the Aldeburgh Festival, Aeneas in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas for the English Bach Festival in Athens, Madrid and London, and in Gluck’s Iphigénie en Tauride at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, in addition to appearances at the Wexford Festival and on many occasions with the Dublin Grand Opera Society. His work in the television and broadcasting studios includes appearances in Ireland and Britain, and his commercial recordings include first performances of music by contemporary composers.
