David Hill MBE is widely respected as both a choral and orchestral conductor. He currently holds musical directorships with The Bach Choir and Leeds Philharmonic Society. He is Principal Conductor of Schola Cantorum, Yale University where he also holds the post of Professor of Choral Conducting (adjunct). He is International Chair of Choral Conducting at The Royal Northern College of Music and Associate Guest Conductor of Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. He has recently edited Carols for Choirs 6 alongside Bob Chilcott for Oxford University Press. He was Chief Conductor of the BBC Singers (2007–17) and has held posts at Durham, Westminster and Winchester Cathedrals and St John’s College, Cambridge.
He has recorded over 100 albums as both organist, choral and orchestral conductor encompassing music from the 16th century to the present day. He has been instrumental in commissioning and performing new works from many of the world’s leading composers.
