Roderick Earle was born in Winchester and sang as a chorister in the Cathedral choir. After Cambridge and the Royal College of Music he studied with Otakar Kraus.
For 21 years he was a Principal Baritone with the Royal Opera, Covent Garden, singing more than 60 rôles for the company, including Alberich, Kothner and Schaunard. He has also appeared with all the major companies in the UK, as well as in Europe (Athens, Milan, Munich, Oslo, Paris, Rome, Turin, Valencia), America, the Far East and New Zealand.
In 2010, he made his Australian début in Ligeti’s Le Grand Macabre. He has appeared on several recordings and DVDs.
