Since autumn 2016 Robert Bennesh has served as director of music at Lund Cathedral, Sweden. Beyond playing for the rigorous weekly service schedule, Bennesh plans the weekly organ recital series, the annual summer organ festival, and conducts choirs of all ages.

Bennesh graduated with an Artist Diploma in organ performance from Yale University in 2015 where he was a student of Thomas Murray. Prior to his studies in the United States Bennesh received Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in church music from the Malmö Academy of Music and The Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen where he studied organ performance with, among others, Hans Fagius and Bine Bryndorf. The Royal Swedish Academy of Music has rewarded Bennesh twice with their national scholarship.
