Born in Madrid, the soprano Victoria Marchante took her diploma in singing at the Madrid Royal Conservatory, going on to qualify at the Escuela Superior de Canto. She participated in courses with Guillaumette Laurent, Robin Bowman, Ian Bear, Félix Lavilla and Miguel Zanetti, and studied choral conducting with Martin Schmitch. Specialising in German and French concert repertoire, she has participated in various concert tours in Spain and has been first soprano in the Gregor vocal ensemble. She has appeared as a soloist in works including Vivaldi’s Gloria and Magnificat, Brahms’s German Requiem, Mozart’s Requiem and the same composer’s Le nozze de Figaro, Die Zauberflöte and Così fan tutte, and Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortilèges, in major Spanish musical centres and in Poland. She is active as a singing teacher and choral director, and as a section leader of the Chorus of the Comunidad de Madrid.
