The American pianist, Michael Lewin, studied at the Juilliard School of Music in New York with the distinguished teachers, Leon Fleisher and Yvonne Lefebure. After competition successes in the Kapell International Piano Competition, Beethoven Fellowship and Liszt Piano Competition, he embarked on an international career taking him on tours of the USA, Europe and Asia. Among the major orchestras with which he has appeared include the Netherlands Philharmonic, Boston Pops, Phoenix Symphony, New Orleans Symphony, Colerado Springs Symphony and the Chamber Orchestra of Puerto Rico. He now lives in Boston, where he teaches at the Consevatoire. He has already recorded music of Liszt, Scriabin, Balakirev and Glazunov . For Naxos/Marco Polo he has recorded the piano music of Charles Tomlinson Griffes.
