Mexican tenor Luis Aguilar holds a Master’s degree in music and voice from Yale University, and is an alumnus of the Georg Solti Accademia.
Aguilar appeared in Die Zauberflöte at Yale Opera after making his debut at the Opera de Nuevo Leon in Il barbiere di Siviglia. In concert he has appeared in the title role in Bernstein’s Candide, Handel’s Messiah, Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, Bach’s Magnificat and Mozart’s Requiem. Recent performances include works by Mozart and Salieri in Sao Paulo and Henry VIII at La Monnaie/De Munt.
A laureate of the Jose Mojica Prize at the 2018 Opera de San Miguel and the 2017 Giulio Gari Vocal competitions, he was a member of London’s National Opera Studio during the 2019–20 season.
