Tamilla Guliyeva is an Azerbaijani-German pianist. She began her piano studies at the age of six at the music school for highly gifted children in her home city of Baku, afer which she continued her piano studies at the Baku Academy of Music, where she graduated with the highest honours. In 2004, the young pianist came to Germany, where she completed further studies at the Folkwang Musikhochschule in Essen (in the class of Prof Michael Roll).
Tamilla Guliyeva also took part in masterclasses with renowned musicians such as Mstislav Rostropovich, Bella Davidovich, Naum Starkman, the Faure Quartet, the Minguet Quartet and Tabea Zimmermann. During this time, she reached the final of the German Music Competition in Bonn as a chamber musician.
Tamilla Guliyeva has performed numerous recitals in various chamber music formations, including duos with Michael Kugel (viola), Pieter Daniel (violin), Nana Jaschwili (violin), Vesselin Paraschkevov (violin) and others. Her international concert activities continue to take her to renowned concert halls such as the Beethoven-Haus Bonn, the Cologne Philharmonie, the Philharmonie Essen, the Tchaikovsky Philharmonie Moscow, the Palais du Luxembourg in Paris, the Tchaikovsky Conservatory Moscow and the Philharmonie Baku.
She has performed as a soloist with symphony and chamber orchestras such as the Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra, the Moscow Chamber Orchestra, l’arte del mondo, the Philharmonie Südwestfalen, Musica Camerata Westfalica, etc. She is also active as a member of various chamber music ensembles and regularly gives masterclasses in Germany, Croatia and Macedonia as part of the Ohrid Summer Music Festival. She makes recordings for radio, including WDR Cologne, and for CD productions Since 2007 she has been a lecturer and lecturer, since 2019 lecturer for special tasks at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen.
