The ensemble of the Swiss Baroque Soloists was established in 2004 by their artistic directors Andrés Gabetta and Niklas Eklund, together with leading European baroque performers. The fundamental aim of the group is to rediscover a new angle on baroque and classical repertoire, mingling energy and boldness in the exploration of rare repertoire and performing on original instruments. The ensemble appears regularly at international music festivals.
The Swiss Baroque Soloists’ first album with J.S. Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos Nos 1–6, released on Naxos 8.557755–56, was awarded a 2008 GRAMMY® Nomination.
