Born in Pittsburg, the American conductor has, from his base in Italy, established an international reputation and career, conducting notably at a number of major Italian opera houses and festivals. His career has taken him to opera houses and concert halls throughout Europe, Australia, the United States and South America, with a wide repertoire. He has appeared often in the theatres of Rome, Genova, Palermo, Naples, Treviso, Pesaro, Jesi, Minnesota, Lima and Athens. He has conducted the orchestras of Sydney, Milan, Athens, Kaiserslautern and many others. Winner of the Gino Marinuzzi International Conducting Competition, he worked as assistant to Gianluigi Gelmetti at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Teatro alla Scala, Covent Garden, La Fenice in Venice, and the Munich Philharmonic, among others. As winner of the conducting competition Toti dal Monte-La Bottega in Treviso, he was named resident conductor and assistant to Peter Maag at the Teatro Comunale, Treviso. He also attended the conducting class of Maestro Gelmetti at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena where he was awarded the prestigious Franco Ferrara Prize.
