Marcus Bosch is one of the most prominent figures of the German conducting scene, and a much sought-after guest conductor across the world. After positions at the Staatstheaters in Wiesbaden and Saarbrücken and with the Staatsorchester Halle, he was general music director of the City of Aachen and served at the Staatstheater and Staatsphilharmonie in Nuremberg. Bosch is also artistic director of the Heidenheim Opera Festival. Under his leadership, the event has evolved into an internationally renowned operatic showcase, not least because of the Festival orchestra, Cappella Aquileia, an ensemble of top-flight musicians founded by Bosch.
As a professor at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München, he passes on his knowledge and experience to aspiring young conductors. In 2018, he took on artistic responsibility for the Norddeutsche Philharmonie Rostock as conductor-in-residence. He holds the position of principal guest conductor with the Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie in Konstanz and is the chair of the German GMD-Konferenz.
