Tracing his musical lineage to the great German Romantic tradition, Andreas Delfs has become known not only for his inspired interpretations of Beethoven, Brahms and Bruckner, but also as a champion of contemporary composers. He has held chief artistic posts with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, the City of Hanover (Germany), and the Bern (Switzerland) Opera, among others. Also an active guest conductor, he has led the world's most celebrated orchestras. An esteemed collaborator, Andreas Delfs regularly works with artists including Joshua Bell, Yo-Yo Ma, Itzhak Perlman and André Watts, and has recorded with John O' Conor and the London Symphony Orchestra, and with Renée Fleming and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Born in Flensburg, Germany, he studied at the Hamburg Conservatory and later at the Juilliard School.
