Kent Engelhardt is the Coordinator of Jazz Studies and Associate Professor of Jazz Studies/Clarinet/Saxophone at YSU. He ascended to his position following his receiving the BM and MM in performance from YSU. He received the MA and PhD in Ethnomusicology from the University of Pittsburgh. He toured internationally with the “Tommy Dorsey Orchestra conducted by Buddy Morrow”. His performance career includes appearances with the likes of Mel Torme, Buddy Rich, Maureen McGovern, Clark Terry, Louie Bellson, Buddy Rich, and many others.
Kent Engelhardt has been a featured performer with the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra, Cleveland Orchestra, Cleveland Lyric Opera, and Blossom Festival Band. He is also a biographer and researcher of note. He is an artist-representative for the Remle/Beechler mouthpiece company.
