Adalbert Kraus took up singing
in 1967 at the Staatskonservatorium in Würzburg (Professor Klink-Schneider)
after first training in a craft and then studying theology, philosophy and German.
In 1968 he had already won a prize at the International Music Contest in Geneva.
From 1970 - 1974 he was engaged at the Niedersächsischen Staatstheater in Hannover
as a lyrical tenor; since then he has worked free-lance. Adalbert Kraus has
worked with many distinguished conductors at concerts and opera guest performances
and has become known for his song recitals at home and abroad, for radio and
television broadcasts and for a large repertoire of recordings. He is professor
in ordinary at the College of Music in Munich, honorary professor at the Würzburg
College of Music and guest lecturer at both the Tokio College of Music and the
International Bach Academy in Stuttgart.
