The soprano Katja Stuber was born in Walverbach and since October 2004 has studied with Christian Gerhaher. Her other teachers have included Juliane Banse, Céline Dutilly, Christoph Hammer and Helmut Deutsch. She has appeared in concert with various ensembles and had her first experience in opera as Carolina in Cimarosa’s Il matrimonio segreto. She has appeared with the Munich Chamber Opera at Schloss Nymphenburg and at the Ekhof Festival in Gotha. At the Prinzregententheater (Bavarian Theatre Academy) she sang the rôle of Bazina in Reinhard Keiser’s Fredegunda and has taken part in master-courses with Siegfried Jerusalem and András Schiff. Since 2007 she has been supported by the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Association.
