Jean-Paul Fouchécourt is widely known as one of the foremost interpreters of French baroque repertoire. His performances and over one hundred recordings including works by Rameau, Lully, and Campra, have received wide acclaim. He has also mastered repertoire from Berlioz to Offenbach, Ravel and Verdi. He has performed numerous rôles with Les Arts Florissants and William Christie, Les Musiciens du Louvre and Marc Minkowski, the Metropolitan Opera, Paris Opéra, the Aix-en-Provence Festival, Edinburgh Festival, Salzburg Festival, Berlin Philharmonic, Saito Kinen Festival, the Boston Symphony and the BBC Proms. Conductors with whom he has worked include James Levine, René Jacobs, Charles Dutoit, Seiji Ozawa, Valery Gergiev and Sir Simon Rattle.
