The conductor Olari Elts was born in Tallin 1971. His interests lie not only in the classics but in contemporary music and opera. He was principal conductor of the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra from 2001 to 2006 and first guest conductor of the Orchestre de Bretagne (2006–2010), the Scottish Chamber Orchestra (2007–2009) and the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra (2011–2012). He is now principal guest conductor of the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra. He appears regularly with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, the SWR Sinfonieorchester Stuttgart, the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. He has also worked in Japan, Australia and New Zealand.
