One of Canada’s foremost flautists, Suzanne Shulman has earned international critical acclaim for solo recitals in renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Wigmore Hall in London and the Chopin Institute in Warsaw. Shulman performs in major series and music festivals at home and abroad, appearing as soloist with orchestras, in chamber ensembles and presenting masterclasses.
She has been a guest artist with the Orford, St. Lawrence and Penderecki string quartets, and with the late Glenn Gould in television and recording projects. Suzanne has recorded for the CBC, Folkways, Crystal, Golden Crest, Centrediscs, Opening Day, Classical Kids, Marquis and Naxos labels.
As a founding member of the ensembles Camerata Canada, Trio Lyra and ChamberWORKS, Shulman premiered commissioned works by many prominent Canadian composers. She performs regularly with pianist Valerie Tryon, harpist Erica Goodman and the Festival of the Sound ensemble.
