Paolo Bordogna is an internationally acclaimed lyric baritone and bass-baritone in the roles of Rossini’s operas, Mozart and the bel canto repertoire. He studied at the Academy of Desenzano, the Accadamia Rossiniana and is the winner of the Caruso Prize and the Bastianini Prize 2006.
His outstanding engagements include Il barbiere di Siviglia (Bartolo) at the Washington National Opera, the Berlin State Opera, New National Theatre in Tokyo, Zurich Opera House and the Vienna State Opera, Don Pasquale at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Opera Australia and the Teatro Regio in Turin as well as La Cenerentola at the Opéra National de Paris, the Vienna State Opera and the Bavarian State Opera.
He has worked with conductors such as Roberto Abbado, Riccardo Chailly, Jesús López-Cobos, Cornelius Meister, Kent Nagano and Alberto Zedda.
Bordogna is a much sought-after recording artist; Decca released his solo album Tutto Buffo, which concludes a long series of recordings including La Cenerentola, La Rita, La Gazza Ladra, La Pietra del Paragone, La Scala di Seta, and Matilde di Shabran.
