Li Bochan is a composer, PhD candidate and lecturer at the composition department of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. Born in Beijing in 1992, Li studied composition at the Central Conservatory of Music for undergraduates. As a young composer, active on the international stage, Li’s works are frequently performed in multiple countries and regions including the United States, Canada, Britain, Germany, Poland, Russia, France, the Netherlands, Austria, and many others.
His works of various genres, including symphonies, have received more than 30 international and domestic awards, including the 8th Seattle Symphony Orchestra International Composition Competition Annual Award; 1st prize in the 10th Italian Don Vincenzo Vitti International Composition Competition; 1st place in the US Julia Scholarship Composition Competition; 1st place in the US Golden Key International Composition Competition; and Special Prize in the Chicago International Composition Competition.
