Aldo Orvieto studied at the Venice Conservatory and owes much of his musical development to Aldo Ciccolini. Orvieto has recorded and performed for the main European radio broadcasters, including the BBC, Rai, Radio France and German radio.

He has recorded more than 70 albums for ASV Records, Black Box Music, cpo, Mode Records, Winter & Winter, Kairos, Hommage, Naxos, Brilliant Classics, Dynamic, Stradivarius, Ricordi and Warner Music Italy, all of which have garnered much critical acclaim.

Orvieto has appeared as a soloist with orchestras and ensembles around the world, including the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della Rai, Orchestra del Teatro Comunale di Bologna and Ensemble 2e2m, and appeared at prestigious venues such as Teatro La Fenice and the Arena di Verona.

Orvieto has taken part in many world premieres, including works by Camillo Togni, Bruno Maderna, Salvatore Sciarrino, Claudio Ambrosini and Stefano Gervasoni, and received praise from eminent contemporary composers such as Luigi Nono, Goffredo Petrassi, Mauricio Kagel and Sylvano Bussotti.
